Travelin’ Van

As I wander the country to do photography, I have tried to make use of our 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan.

It’s become a pretty great option to travel in.

Comfortable to drive and plenty roomy to sleep in.

On the road, I absolutely love the Ford Transit larger van along with the Dodge Promaster series.

However, being that I still do the flower business for my living and as of yet, the photography is not producing income, I can’t justify spending the money to purchase a Transit or Promaster to convert.

They are bigger, more roomy. However, they also come at a pretty penny cost wise.

As of now, I am not going on the road a lot.

And I am not sure what really to pursue, if I can be quite frank about it.

Originally, I started the Youtube channel because I loved the idea of making videos and sharing them with people as I travel and photograph.

A friend of mine, Marc, in MI suggested I start doing more with showing settings and how I get shots and all that.

Another friend of mine, Justin, suggested it might be neat, particularly me being who I am to somehow product photography and travel videos and interlace life advice in there too.

None of this has really been met with great success.

Years ago, a big name photographer and I became friends. We were having lunch one day and he told me to keep doing the flower business to put food on the table and pay the mortgage.

Do photography on my terms, how I like, and not worry about using it for money.

He’s right.

Rush Limbaugh always talked about how everyone wants to be famous.

He lamented that the internet was making this problem worse.

Everyone wants to throw up Youtube vids and get famous. Not fully understanding the work it takes to get to a high level.

I agree with that.

I had a guy reach out to me after I cut the two videos in the fall from Michigan. He said the words I spoke at the end of part 2 really gave him hope and helped him feel better. He lives in Michigan under the rule and Tyranny of that awfully evil woman, Whitmer.

That was really nice and I was happy to be able to help.

I certainly wish the reach could be greater. But it’s not.

At any rate, enough of that.

In this video, I’d like to show you a few of the new upgrades to the van as well as show you what' it’s like to stay in a Walmart parking lot.

While on the road across the country I learned that a few places provide safe harbor and are RV and Vanlife friendly. A number of Walmarts and Cracker Barrels are great.

Walmart in larger cities won’t allow it. Neither will CB. I bet that is due to city ordinance more than they don’t want the overnight company.

In all the traveling I have done, every Walmart and Cracker Barrel in small towns have been more than welcoming.

It’s great…and free.

Well, I hope you enjoy this video. It’s pretty short and you can see what we have going on in the van…while on the road.

Do you have any thoughts or input about all of this?

I’d love to hear them in the comments below.

In the meantime, please consider subscribing and sharing the vids on Rumble.

Talk to you soon,
