If God so Cares for the Wildflowers…

So it begins. Our trek across the southern California desert has officially started.

Our first stop was the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in the very southern regions of California.

It’s funny how things have worked out regarding this.

I didn’t plan to end up in the Salton Sea area doing the whole “workcamper” gig. But for the months of January, February, and half of March, we parked in an RV park and called it home.

If nothing else, it did give me a lot of time to get caught up on vehicle maintenance and RV modifications and fixes.

We met some great friends who have asked that we come back next year to see them, but we are still on the fence as to whether or not it will be in our plan.

With all of that said, I had no idea we were literally right on top of one of the most sought after spots to see desert wildflowers in all of the United States. On top of that, it’s the first place to come to life in the spring due to it’s elevation. We then will follow the weather northward week after week to gather more video and of course, photography.

We found a wonderful spot for dispersed camping in Arroyo Salado State park, a free dispersed camping area.

From here, our home base for the week, we made our way all throughout the Borrego Springs area.

We had some rain, some sun, and a few pretty wonderful sunrises. All of which will at some point make their way either into upcoming videos or through photography here.

The desert is a good reminder of just how God’s favor and hand blesses us. It’s difficult to believe that the scorched earth of the Sonoran desert region could produce such beauty but let it remind us that HE has our life in his hand and no matter how hot, dry, desolate, and uncomfortable we may be at a given season, he can, and likely will produce a “spring bloom”.

I am reminded of Jesus’ words to us on this very topic.

“If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:30-34 The Message
