3 Ways to Go Dark ~ Tips

Hi!

It’s no secret that in a brazenly unapologetic way, various entities have ramped up their mission to not only collect data from you, but to use it against you.

Joe Biden made it clear that he will be using the NSA, as Obama did to begin spying on you. Their intent is to isolate Trump voters, MAGA supporters. See the Article Here. (of course, it will not stop there).

The FBI has followed suit.

Facebook…well, need I say more? They are the worst offender in coming after your data and sharing it with prying eyes.

Instagram or IG with their new terms of service Owns everything on your device. Period.

Alright, so without being too techy, here are three things you can do right now, today, quickly that will help you go dark. Or a little darker. Links included.

1) Install Brave as your browser, make it your default browser on your computer for surfing the internet, and use it exclusively. (Bonus Tip, Install this on your phone too, along with Duck Duck Go as a search. Find Brave Here. Find Duck Duck Go here. Used together, these really ramp up your defenses in taking back your privacy.)

2) Install and begin using Signal. Signal is an app that you install on your phone as your text messaging service. With this app installed, as long as the other end has it installed, the messages, phone calls you make through it, video calls you make through it, and photos you share through it are invisible to every entity that would try and find them. All transmissions are encrypted end to end. But again, both parties must be using it for this level of security. (Bonus tip. You MUST turn it on in the settings to be your default message for SMS and Text to default for text messages). You can find Signal Here.

3) Purchase and install a VPN. In the simplest terms, this very inexpensive option turns on a special service on any computer or phone it is installed. It encrypts ALL traffic coming and going on your computer or phone. No one can see it, or track you, or find you. You are completely invisible. We are using NORD VPN in our business, and in our family. It’s inexpensive and it has the least amount of negative impact on your internet speeds. (VPNs tend to slow your traffic down a little. Some more than others. I am seeing no notable difference at all on ours) You can find Nord Here.

I hope you found this helpful and if you have questions or need help, reach out to me. I am happy to help you in any way that I can.
