Prairie Dogs on Parade

When we hit the Badlands National Park, we were met with pretty difficult weather to photograph in. I wasn’t really excited about the clouds and the cold.

However, I chose to make the best of it. I was actually surprised to see how much wildlife there is in the Badlands National Park.

There were Bison, Pronghorns, Sheep, Big Horns, and Prairie Dogs. On our first day, we decided we would go ahead and drive around to try and photograph the animals.

The majority of the time, we spent on the Prairie Dogs. They are the cutest little suckers. The barked warnings back and forth letting each other know if we were to get close to their hole.

I took the long lens, biggest in my arsenal, in order to get as close as possible for the shots. In general, I was shooting them with a 600mm lens, on my crop sensor amounting to 900mm.

I hope you will enjoy the video on my Youtube channel and also enjoy the photos below from that day!

See you in the next one!
