Night of Lights
Christmas Lights in St Augustine Florida
Saint Augustine Florida is home to one of the 10 top locations according to National Geographic magazine to enjoy Christmas Light displays.
I found this to be great as St Augustine is right around the corner from where I live. Well, 2 hours or so around the corner.
To be able to visit one of the top 10 places in the entire world according to National Geographic is pretty special.
I love Christmas lights and the Christmas decorating season. I always have. There’s something special about snow, yes. However, you would be surprised at just how lavish the Christmas decorating in Florida can be!
Joelle and I decided we would take a drive to the area so that I could do not only some photography, but also a little video with the drone. It was a lot of fun.
We attended the opening day event. This is the time they actually turn on the lights in the main square of the city. It was not as epic as I had hoped it would be, but I was able to capture the exact moment the lights turned on.
Being in the Disney Word and Universal backyard, I have seen better coordinated such events. However, it was still pretty neat to be in the city for the opening day of the Night of Lights.
I thought the Flagler Museum was especially pretty and did photograph it’s decorations with the drone. I chose to do Panoramas of the area. I did so because the panorama photography capability of my Mavic Air 2s is extremely useful and quick. I shoot them in RAW to merge them together later on. This provides an extremely high quality image file and puts out a wonderful final product.
I thought it’d be fun to share a few image files with you as well as share with you the video I created with Joelle’s help.
Stay tuned. We are working our way around the State of Florida with the drone to do more photography of Christmas decorations. We are even headed to Denver for 4 days so that I can video and photograph the Rockies in the snow and Christmas lights. I know you’re gonna love what we produce!
