Downtown Seattle
The Seattle Skyline, to me, was made famous by the hit show Frasier. I love that show.
The Seattle Skyline in the early morning hours
Seattle, as you may recall, was of course headlined often during the Corona Virus insanity.
Seattle was home of the CHAZ or CHOP. I guess they couldn’t make up their minds.
As part of my time in Graham, I had it in my mind was to spend a quiet morning, very early, doing some early light photography of the city skyline as well as some of it’s more notable icons.
I chose a Saturday in April before we left Graham for good to do so.
Thankfully, although we were in the time when it still rains frequently, the weather, this morning, cooperated.
I left my site in Rainier View RV Park at around 4 am to make the 45 minute drive, avoiding potential traffic.
Although the cities are certainly some of my least liked places to spend time during the day, there is something enticing about them in the very early morning hours.
I’ve found them to be quiet and tranquil with little to no traffic or activity. It creates a calm period of time in which the Lord and I commune, not unlike the times I spend alone in the early hours in the wilderness.
Just the hushed silence of the man made architecture creating it’s own kind of beauty standing against a rising sun which eventually warms the buildings with it’s glow.
The Seattle Skyline was no different this day.
Pikes Place Market with the Olympic Range in the distance
The Seagulls made the photography of Pikes Place very challenging. I’ve never seen so many perched on buildings and the like. I think the fresh fish trade or the area likely drives the birds here. It was incredibly difficult to fly for any length of time as the birds hated the drone.
Pikes Place Prepping for a Busy Saturday
I thought you might appreciate the various angles and photographs I was able to capture while there so I am opting to again share these with you.
I’m particularly fond of the skyline with the Needle and Mount Rainier off in the distance at the Blue Hour.
Blue Hour Lights up the City. Note Mount Rainier in the distance.
I hope you enjoy.

P.S. You might find it fun to know that while I was driving around looking for places to safely launch the drone for photos, I found myself in a very desolate part of the city. I thought it looked oddly familiar. I looked on the map and asked where the CHAZ or CHOP area was during that terrible time. I was right in the middle of it. Woops!
