A New House
Well, a few things are new.
The house is up for sale at the end of this week. We’ve been working quite a bit getting ready by getting rid of stuff. You know, even though we’ve tried to not accumulate since purchasing this home in 2017, it really is amazing just how much stuff one can acquire that is not needed.
I’m astounded at just how much there is to deal with related to tangible items which we need to get rid of. Pairing down to this unit for our home is both nerve wracking and liberating both at the same time. I’m a little uncertain on how it will play out.
We have purchased the unit we plan to live from. It’s a Winnebago Micro Minnie FLX model. This particular unit will provide us adequate shelter and storage for what we will need to keep with us. Included in the list is our dog Watson.
This unit is outfitted for the kind of travel we will be doing. We plan to spend a lot of time off grid with it. We will not be spending a lot of time in the confines of a proper campground.
As such, the solar panels and portable power provided from the factory are a great step in that direction.
Not only that, but this unit has a full enclosed underside making it more immune to cold weather. Further, all of the tanks underneath have a heating option which can be turned on when the weather is colder. This helps to keep them from freezing in inclement weather.
There are a lot of add on options from the factory which make the unit quite comfortable, although due to their mechanical nature, also more prone to break.
Naturally, I’ll be traveling with all my tools so should something indeed break, I hope to be able to fix it while out there. I guess time alone will tell at just how successful this road trip life will be.
It’s tough to spend the cash, but to be able to pay cash, well, is a blessing indeed.
I am sure that we are going to be able to gather a lot of great content while out on the road. This unit will make it considerably more comfortable to set up camp and stay a while. Giving us ample time to create and craft stories and video for the youtube channel as well as photography for this site.
I’m including a link to a video story I’ve made about picking up the unit. I hope you enjoy it’s content.
I’ll see you around here soon.
