A Video from Logan Pass
Sunrise at Glacier National Park
Well, it was our final morning in Glacier National Park. So after getting up incredibly early at our campsite in Apgar Campground, we drove up one last time the Going to the Sun Road.
We arrived at the Logan Pass visitor center well before sun up.
It was dark, windy…and really cold, even if it was still only mid September.
I had scoped out the spot from which I thought I should photograph early the day before. I had cell signal at Apgar. I was able to research.
As I witnessed the dark gray clouds over the mountain range, I sort of suspected, while walking the trail, that in fact they might light up.
And boy, did the early coming sun every reflect off the bottom of those clouds. At first, maroon and red, then light yellow, ultimately to the orange you will see in the photograph I ultimately decided upon.
It happened really fast. I wasn’t fully prepared for just how fast I would need to get things set up and how little time I would ultimately have to make the photograph.
Yet, as I was sort of prepared…it turned out great.
In the middle of it all, Joelle and I thought it would be a good idea to document this whole experience in video.
That’s exactly what we did.
As always, should you like the photos in this video, they can be made available for licensed use on line as well as for sale in print form.
Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, let me know. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the video.
