Merry Christmas from Leavenworth
Merry Christmas to all of you!
I visited the town of Leavenworth, WA last week in an attempt to get some Christmas and snow photography and video.
It was moderately successful. I wanted to share with you the outcome of the trip along with the images and the video I tried to produce.

Western Larch
The Great Western Larch are spectacular in the fall. I lucked out the day after the national election.
We headed up to White Pass in Washington and found entire mountain sides covered with these beautiful trees in full fall color in the early morning sun.

Snaggletooth
The Snaggletooth Wilderness area hosts a BLM Primitive camp ground. We chose to stop here on our way south from the Valley of Fire area in Nevada to our final destination at the Glamis North RV park in Niland California. I’ll share my thoughts and a few photos with you from along the way.
A Drone Rescue
It was frustrating day.
A day I anticipated with great eagerness. The opportunity to finally fly my DJI Avata FPV drone through a close walled canyon. Something I’ve longed to do for some time.
After a long ride through a very bumpy, dusty, dry terrain, we made it. I launched the Avata, began my flight, and almost as soon as I began the flight, it ended. Crashed into a bush…of all places, on top of the mountain. Read on to learn the story.

I Am Now A Pilot!
I have officially passed the Part 107 so I can now legally offer and sell Aerial Photography and Video. Yeah!

For the past couple months, I have been studying for my Part 107 pilot license. This is a license that allows me to fly a SUAS (Small Unmanned Aircraft System) as an FAA certified pilot.
This is something which is required if you are flying your drone for anything other than a hobby.
