Sunrise At Bowman Lake

Drone Photographs Included

Today, our video takes us to Bowman Lake in Glacier National Park for a beautiful Sunrise photography session over the lake.

Wow, what a spot!

Upon doing a lot of research, we decided to get up at 3am and drive north west to visit the Bowman Lake area of Glacier National park.

While up there, it was pretty cold. It get’s a little chilly that far north in late September.

Frankly, I was surprised to find such stunning and comfortable weather, albeit colder than I am used to in the early morning pre sun up hours.

It was a little scary while up there as well.

First, it is incredibly dark up there in the night time hours.

Second, the darkness and not being able to see much really helped stoke and promote a little fear of the Grizzlies that roam the area.

I was able to grab a couple of really great sunrise shots with the mountains reflecting in a glass calm lake.

It was great. As soon as the sun rose, the lake immediately became choppy, as is the case in almost all of these settings. The moment the air temperature changes, it creates some volatility over the water and the waves start.

Well, not to worry, I was able to grab the shots I had hoped and they were stunning.

Even better, I found a number of places outside the park boundaries that were spectacular for flying the drone around. This allowed me the opportunity to grab a number of great photographs not only of the mountain ranges but of the river bed, the yellow aspens as well as some amazing panoramic shots.

I hope you enjoy the vid. It was fun to put together.
