The next stop on the parade is in the Mojave National Preserve at the Hole in the Wall campground.

Normally, as you know, we are prone to stay off gird for “free”.

I visited the Hole in the Wall campground some time back with Levi and Ed. We enjoyed it here but we didn’t stay over. It was simply to drive through on our way from Death Valley to Joshua Tree.

Sunrise In Death Valley

Hole in the Wall sits smack dab between interstate 15 and interstate 40 with Joshua Tree to it’s south and Death Valley to it’s north.

It’s a lesser known property but not lesser in beauty.

Poppies in the Preserve from our 2018 Visit

Plenty of opportunity to explore and see beautiful landscapes.

I recommend visiting this area from about November to early April. This is the cooler season and this is much more tolerable..

The Hole in the Wall campground where we stayed sits at nearly 4000 feet in elevation so it is much, MUCH cooler for much longer in the season.

The price to camp in this park is a mere $12 per night and in my book well worth it. We visited close to the local Spring Break times and we never saw the park fill up.

They have well maintained vault toilets as well as a number of water spigots. There is no power in the park, but generators are allowed 7am to 7pm.

Should you wish to visit this area, I highly recommend visiting this campground for a few days. Even a car ride in with a tent would be amazing.

We opted to stay for a week as we prepared for our next mission; Death Valley National Park.

While there I shot a few videos, including the one linked below as well as a few photographs also shared below.

I hope you enjoy the video and the various updates and photos it provides.

Until we meet again (in Death Valley)…
