I missed a really awesome sunrise the other day. Why? I was being lazy. That’s the bottom line.

I was visiting a family member in GA and was sleeping in the van, as I love to do. At about 5:30 I woke up and the twilight hour was starting. I KNEW it was going to be an amazing sunrise. However, I didn’t have my camera out and ready the night before.

Generally, I try and prepare everything the night before, always anticipating a great opportunity to shoot a landscape photo or sunrise.

This day, or the day before, I was lazy. (I stayed up too late talking with the family members).

It cost me a beautiful sunrise shot.

My advice? Always Be Ready. When you are attempting to take landscape photos, you must always be ready. It’s also important to understand when doing landscape photography you will have to work some. Most of the beautiful shots will require very early mornings, or sometimes late nights.

Hiking for a few miles is often a requisite as well.
