Florida Panhandle

The Emerald Coast

I thought it would be nice to share with you a few of not only the image files I was able to obtain, but also the video I put together from the Florida Panhandle and the beaches along, as it’s called, the Emerald Coast. Emerald Coast because the water is truly a very emerald green in it’s color.

We visited Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach, Fort Walton Beach, and Perdido Key. We rounded out the trip with an overnight in the State Capitol of Tallahassee to do some really wonderful video and photography over our historic Capitol city. A video of this area will follow.

For this particular trip, there was an unfortunate amount of haze in the sky most of the time, be it morning, late evening or even afternoon. This drew away from the blue skies I had hoped to achieve.

It was part windiness, and part humidity. When we were up there, on one of the days, the temperature hit 105. Both of which create significant haze.

It is, after all, Florida in the summer.

I always chuckle at the folks who bitch and complain about it. “It’s SO HOT”.

Now first, you might be reading this and find yourself to be one of these folks.

If this rubs you the wrong way, it’s you, not me. ;-)

That’s just the Rob says what he means thing coming out.

Back to my observation.

It’s SO HOT”.

To which I will almost always reply.

“You do know, don’t you, that we are in Florida?”

“Well, yeah, BUT…”

I then begin thinking in my mind “Duh!”.

Now, so I am clear, not to pick on these folks all too much;

I know people who live up north, in my former home state of Michigan.

Every winter, undoubtedly, there will be “It’s SO COLD!” when it hits the single digits or even negative numbers.

“Uh, you do know, don’t you, that you are in Michigan…and it’s winter…”.

I have never understood WHY this is treated as if it’s some kind of surprise when what has been the case for a millennia simply revolves around again to the same thing, another year, another day.

At any rate, we were up there, as you will recall, to spend some time with my son and his wife for his graduation.

When we arrived, Levi, Ed and Joelle and I drove the Pensacola beach area flying and filming.

The following 2 mornings Ed and I were up at the butt crack of dawn to drive to the beach and get early morning light video and panorama of the Navarre Beach as well as the Pensacola Beach area.

The final day, Joelle and Ed accompanied me all the way to the Alabama border, Florbama as it’s known and we flew and videoed the Perdido Key beach front. Nothing too epic while there, although it could have been. I can see how it may have been spectacular. A serious storm was blowing in from land out to sea and it made short work of my flying. Not before, however, I photographed it from the sky.

So…here are a few shots and the accompanying video from the Emerald Coast in full 4k color and beauty.

You ever have one of those days. The kind of day that just saps the life out of you?

The past days have been that way for me. Just no motivation or desire to do anything. Fails at all levels and that only make matters worse.

Man, I hate it.

I have to believe it will improve soon. It had better any way, or I am gonna get ticked.

Enjoy the photos…video at the bottom.
