Elephant Butte

I’ve spent a few days in an area called Elephant Butte. I have no idea why it’s called that, but it is.

It’s a lovely space here which I found using the Campendium app. My go to source for finding sites at which I can park and call home. First few days, very windy. But this is New Mexico on the threshold of their winter. Wind is part of the equation here…actually…all year.

As time continues to roll on, I am finding my stride on the road. It’s been a very bumpy start for sure. Just now, since the 8th of November, have I been able to finally hit the road and get the kinks worked out of all that comes with doing so.

After setting up camp on Saturday I spent the day installing the Blink camera set up so that I can monitor outside at night. Plus, I can monitor should I ever have to leave camp for a hike or something.

I made a video during the install.

Yesterday, I spent the day working on more videos. Two to record. I also worked through the details of setting up our Amazon Store links through this site, allowing us to earn small commissions from those items sold through the links.

Today, I’ve mostly been working on refining the Amazon Store and also editing the sunset and sunrise photography I was able to do last night and this morning.

Work, work, work. That’s the name of the game.

I think some folks think that I’ll be driving around, setting up camp, and then sitting lake side all day just hanging around.

In truth, this new venture is a different type and line of working. Plenty to do, all day and into the night.

Video and photography frequently on top of various maintenance matters on not only the Winnebago, but the truck and all that encompases.

Just thought you’d like to have an update.

By the time you read this, I’ll be nearing the Phoenix area in anticipation of picking up Joelle who will be flying out to reconnect with me after her 6 week adventure in South Florida, A.K.A, God’s Waiting Room.

Please enjoy a few of the photos I was able to capture last night and this morning.
