A Sunday Morning in Downtown Orlando

A little Photography and Video from the Air

Joelle, my wife, is spending the weekend at her mother’s home in south Florida. My daughter, Elise, went to the beach for the day.

So…I decided to skip church (I know, I know…) and headed out to Downtown Orlando Florida at 5:45am to do some 4k video recording. I thought while I was there, given the light was so very beautiful (early morning light is my favorite) I just had to do some panorama style photographs of the Orlando Downtown area.

Early Morning at Dr Phillips Center

I blew through 4 batteries on the Mavic Air 2s doing the 4k video of Orlando. Thankfully, I travel with my Jackery 500 power pack. This allows me to constantly be recharging batteries while I fly.

I had a NUMBER of homeless folks try and talk me into giving them money for a “bus ride” to some undetermined (or made up) location.

As a side, I think these folks should know, the “I need a bus pass” doesn’t work any longer. It’s too used. I’ve started telling them so.

“You need a better excuse at this point for free money friend. The ‘I need a bus pass’ is worn out. Everyone uses it. Think of something new.”

Yeah, that’s the 8 on the Enneagram in me talking.

At any rate, I was able to capture some absolutely beautiful photography this morning with the drone and I wanted to share it with you.

A few of the places I photographed this morning were…

The Amway Center

Thornton Park

Lake Eola

The Grand Bohemian Hotel

The Dr Phillips Center

Orlando City Hall

Dr Suess Land from Above

I just HAD to stop at the Universal Studios Lot to do some 4k video footage. I am going to head over there early tomorrow morning for some really early morning 4k Video. I plan to do some photography too. I don’t like flying around the coasters and rides when there are a ton of people in the park and riding. I took an aerial shot of Dr Suess land. I have incredibly fond memories of many years of seasons passes there. It was a wonderful time that was spent after a very rough period in life for the kids and I. So much stress was relieved spending a day at the park whenever we felt like it. The Dr Suess land is one of my favorite places. The colors are extraordinary, as you can see in this aerial photograph of the location.
